Summary: Jane is a long-time Wisconsin professional artist and teacher, a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, Wisconsin Visual Artists, and Wisconsin Plein Air Painters. She teaches at The Clearing in Door County, Dillmans Art Workshops, and the Monroe Street Arts Center
in Madison.

Solo Exhibit review, Minneapolis Tribune 11-21-98 "…artist Jane Barnard presents homages to Irish literary figures and sensitive watercolor landscapes of misty Western Ireland. Quotes from W.B. Yeats, Van Morrison, Paul Meehan or Patrick Kavanaugh are set amid collaged imagery composed of ink and watercolor plus browned vellum paper, bits of Irish wool and stamped images of interlaced ornamentation that look as if they were lifted from the illuminated manuscripts of the 8th century Book Kells. Barnard nicely blends her affection for Irish tradition with an evocation of its physical reality."
